Where This Began

I've sat across from 15-year-old students who could outthink anyone in the room at Oxford, and I've watched them walk away from opportunities because of the cost of a plane ticket. That's a problem I couldn't stop thinking about.

A scholarship is powerful, but only when it lands in the right hands at the right moment. So we don't just write checks. We discover students with unusually high potential, identify the talents that most distinguish them, and choose the program that will best prepare them for success at university and beyond. We match them with the right partner program, secure their place, and remove the financial barrier.

The money matters. Finding the right student and the right match matter more.

The students I've met over the years didn't need to be discovered. They needed someone to bet on them. I kept asking myself why no one was. Eventually I stopped asking and started the Francis Walter Graham Scholars Foundation.

That's it. That's the whole reason.
